After about 6 months in Beijing it's time for me to head home. I should probably start a list of shit I need to do when I get back into town. Things like getting utilities hooked back up, fixing the hot tub, making sure to put the new tabs on my car, cleaning up around the place, unpacking, and making sure everything is where it's supposed to be.

Three months in Beijing! - 10/12/2006 10:41

That's right. It's been 3 months that I've been in Beijing. I've gone from not knowing anyone and not being able to go far from my apartment to knowing some really great people and being able to venture to most places that I want to go to. My Chinese still sucks. And quite honestly, there's just too much to recap on multiple places so everything that's worth being said is up at http://willl26.spaces.msn.com. I'm planning on heading back into town at the end of Oct and staying for a little while. We'll see how that all works out.

The flight could've been better, but it could've been worse. Most importantly I've arrived in Beijing in one piece. I'm almost a day later than I should've arrived but that just means that's one less day that I have to count against my overall stay.
I'm still getting settled into the place I'll be living for my stay. Last night we went over to the Walmart and I have to say it's kind of weird. It's much like the Walmarts I remembered as a kid but everything was in Chinese, of course, and there's 3 levels of stuff. I think that's where I have to go to go grocery shopping, but let's face it, I can't cook so I don't know how much stuff I'm going to get from there. Also, the kitchen is smaller than Richie's old closet. That's saying a lot.
Okay, now I have to go and figure out where to get language classes from so I can order a Big Mac.
